About gothamist llc
Gothamist is the most popular network of city blogs on the internet today. Started in New York City in December, 2002, we have since grown to 14 cities in America, Europe, and Asia. Our network currently receives more than five million visitors sessions per month-- and we've only just begun to grow! Each of our sites is completely unique and strives to give an insider's view of life in the city. We cover everything from breaking news to arts to food to pets, and sometimes get up as many as 25 new items per day in each locale! We're always looking for new ideas, new writers, new advertisers, and people to help us expand to new cities, so please get in touch!
Editor and co-founder
Jen Chung

Jen, a New Jersey-born New Yorker, edits Gothamist when not working at a NY advertising agency. At all other times, she's most likely at a theater near you to see one more movie.
Publisher and co-founder
Jake Dobkin

Jake grew up in the city. He attended PS107, PS321, JHS51, Stuyvesant High School, Columbia University (BA 1998), and NYU Stern Business School (MBA 2005), and it's quite possible he's never left New York for more than ten weeks at any one time. Since 2000, Jake has worked in technology, first at Oven Digital, and later at IBM.com. For the last two years, he has focused on Gothamist full-time. In addition to his work on Gothamist, Jake runs Bluejake, Streetsy, NYC Photobloggers, and consults on internet and software projects for Fortune 500 companies.
TECHNOLOGY director
Neil Epstein

Neil Epstein is a graphic designer with his hands in cookie jars around the city. He is left brain by day, right brain by night and no brain by the early morning hours. Neil is a New Yorker gone native who enjoys films, scuba diving, useless knowledge, shows about talking cars, and going feral in Prospect Park.
sysadmin
Jeffrey Knight

Since throwing in the towel from working for the man, Jeffrey Knight can be found either helping corporate types with information management, writing code to make printing easy, snowboarding, working on his jiu jitsu, or brownstone restoration in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. An old school colleague of Jake's, Jeff keeps the data flowing.
editor-at-large
Tien Mao

Tien Mao, a New York native, formed his sports allegiances in the mid-80's and will watch almost any sport on TV. For some strange reason, Tien owns more than 40 pairs of sneakers while only wearing about 3 pairs. When not taking pictures of himself eating, Tien is either updating his blog, swimming in stacks of The Times, learning how to use TiVO, watching a Netflix movie, throwing down money to see a concert, or chilling in his Greenpoint apartment with a slice of pizza. Simply put, Tien needs to get out more.

Sam Park

By day Sam is an art director at a very important advertising agency on Madison Avenue. By night, he is the alcoholic partner of a kickass t-shirt shop, tiny factory. According to an article in a recent issue of Esquire, one needs a nemesis and an archenemy--two very distinct mortal enemies--to succeed in life. Sam has both. But Sam already knew he'd be a success when he got his TIVO.
