Gothamist can bring your brand to life with an exclusive custom event, providing you with an opportunity to interact with our young, affluent and discerning readers.

From low-key happy hours to VIP concerts in locations you might not expect, our team brainstorms, plans and executes the best event for your brand objectives. Working with our partners, we make sure event attendees have a great time while our editors and photographers document key moments and guests. When the event recap hits our sites, those that missed out on the fun will spend their day in envy.

We’ll invite all the right people, so your brand never has to worry about creating a guest list, but anyone you want there is welcome. Our team also takes care of all the staffing, logistics, and other details to make sure that the client and the guests leave smiling at the end of the night.

Broken Social Scene
Virgin America

In the fall of 2010, Virgin America launched a new route between Toronto and San Francisco and wanted Gothamist to help spread the word organically. We challenged our SFist and Torontoist readers to create the best 3-day city itinerary and round up their social network to vote for their entry. The itineraries were posted on a branded landing page where our audience did the judging.

In San Francisco, one winner and nine friends flew to Toronto for Halloween weekend, where they stayed at the downtown Hilton and shuttled to Parkdale, Toronto’s hip westside hub, for our event. Four Toronto winners and eleven (yes, eleven!) of their friends were invited to attend as well. To celebrate the new route, they also received an all-inclusive weekend for two in San Francisco.

Gothamist took over Parkdale hot-spot Parts and Labour and transformed the restaurant into an exclusive concert venue for a private show with Canadian indie superstars, Broken Social Scene. We made a special effort to recreate the Virgin America cabin with their signature purple glow at the venue. The images of the event are a testament to our attention to detail and creative incorporation of brand elements. The bar was stocked, the music was loud, and everyone there had an unforgettable Halloween.
The Last Newspaper
The Last Newspaper at the New Museum in New York

Given the ideal match between our brand and the theme of their new exhibit, New Museum asked us to co-host the launch party of last year’s “The Last Newspaper.” Media gurus, celebrities, high-society New Yorkers, and chic young party goers were all in attendance. Capitalizing on our relationships with premium brands, we left it to Stoli and Brooklyn Brewery to keep the drinks flowing.
